Strategic Partnerships Director

Flexible Location

The Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC) seeks an experienced ballot measure campaign practitioner to join the program leadership team. The Strategic Partnerships Director will lead long-term co-strategizing efforts with key national and state partners to build greater alignment amongst various ballot measure sectors and be responsible for the design and delivery of BISC’s research program, including the collection, analysis, and practical application of data and research results. In addition, the Strategic Partnership Director will assist in building the capacity of the field through the provision and delivery of customized strategic assistance and training.

As a member of the program leadership team, the Strategic Partnerships Director will co-strategize with other program directors to ensure a full integration of skill-building, policy development, legal advocacy and implementation work into the lifecycle of ballot measure campaigns when advising state-based partners that result in long-term sustainable wins that build independent power in states.

Location: BISC HQ is located in Washington, DC but the location for this position is flexible. This position may require some extended travel.

Policy and Legal Advocacy Director

The Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC) seeks an experienced ballot measure practitioner to join the program leadership team. The Policy and Legal Advocacy Director will lead BISC policy development, analysis, and tracking efforts. In addition, this person will oversee BISC’s ballot integrity program and state legislative accountability efforts to ensure voter approved ballot measures are implemented. The Policy and Legal Advocacy Director will assist in building the capacity of the field through the provision and delivery of customized strategic assistance and training.

As a member of the program leadership team, Policy and Legal Advocacy Director will co-strategize with other program directors to ensure a full integration of skill-building, policy development, legal advocacy and implementation work into the lifecycle of ballot measure campaigns when advising state-based partners that result in long-term sustainable wins that build independent power in states.

Location: BISC HQ is located in Washington, DC, but the location for this position is flexible. This position may require some extended travel. This position reports to the Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Executive and Development Coordinator

Washington DC

BISC seeks a motivated and proactive self-starter to support the Executive Director and the Development Director and their fundraising activities. Duties include, but are not limited to, a wide range of executive and administrative tasks which include managing an active calendar of appointments, fundraising, travel, speaking engagements, and media interviews; creating and editing presentations; conducting research and preparing materials for meetings with funders and donors; and maintaining the organization’s contact & funder database, among other responsibilities. Experience supporting a high-level executive preferred. Must be organized, self-motivated, and an excellent communicator.
