BALLOT INITIATIVE STRATEGY CENTER TO HOLD ANNUAL ROAD AHEAD ‘23 CONFERENCE

FROM MAY 9-11

The conference serves as the singular event nationwide committed to educating progressives on the wide world of ballot initiatives, empowering attendees with the legal and political tools to defend ballot measures from roadblocks, and forging unique partnerships to employ ballot measures as a powerful tool for progress and liberation.

LAS VEGAS, NV – This May 9th to the 11th, the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC) will return to Las Vegas, Nevada for its annual Road Ahead conference. BISC’s yearly event features state-based advocates, ballot measure campaign experts, movement leaders, and funding partners – all focused on how ballot measures can build power and be a tool for liberation.

The 2023 Road Ahead agenda features keynote Kelley Robinson, President of the Human Rights Campaign & Human Rights Campaign Foundation. The agenda also includes legal strategies to protect ballot measure campaigns, co-building the future of reproductive justice and reproductive rights ballot measures, ballot measure leader trainings, building power via voter research, and much more.

Every year, the Road Ahead conference proudly connects bold progressives from all across the country in order to share ideas, learn from each other as well as from speaker practicioners ,and foster new partnerships through its various discussion groups and strategy sessions.

This year’s conference could not come at a better time for defenders of democracy, who continue to fight against ongoing and escalating attacks on the ballot initiative process, including expanding and evolving efforts to undermine the will of the people.

Chris Melody Fields Figueredo, BISC’s Executive Director, and other guest speakers can be available the week of May 15th — after the conclusion of the conference — to speak with reporters about the conference and progress made to protect the ballot initiative process from political overreach, as well as the event’s overall efforts to connect and educate attendees to utilize this powerful tool.
