Janalynn Villaseñor

Senior Manager, Convenings

Janalynn Villaseñor is a passionate community convener with 14 years of experience in conference design, advocacy, coalition building, elections, and civic engagement.

Through her work in programming and events consulting with BIPOC-led organizations, she created collaborative and inclusive spaces where equity-driven professionals and elected officials could convene, learn and network to have a greater impact on policy and in their communities. She first began her journey in health and racial equity as a Public Affairs Director for Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, where she strengthened strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and elected officials to improve policy and increase access for reproductive health services. Through her work with the affiliate’s C4 arm, Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte, she mobilized voters in California’s most conservative areas and helped to defeat Proposition 4, a 2008 proposition that would limit abortion access.

Janalynn is a first-generation Californian raised by an immigrant mother who strongly believed in the power of education. Janalynn attended California public schools and Cal State University, Bakersfield, where she was honored to attend college with her mother and proudly walked the stage together to receive their degrees. Janalynn lives in California and enjoys traveling abroad and visiting our country’s beautiful national parks with her husband and two children.
