Two measures in Nebraska have been referred to the May 2010 primary ballot. The legislature originally passed these referenda in 2007.

One would authorize the legislature to permit counties, cities, and villages to acquire, own, develop, and lease or finance real and personal property for use by nonprofit enterprises for nonsectarian, non-devotional, and nonreligious purposes and to issue revenue bonds for such purpose.  It will also prohibit the use of condemnation for acquiring such property and operation of such property as a business by the county, city, or village

The other would increases legislators salaries to $22,000 yearly.

In addition, two initiatives dealing with annexation are circulating. One would require a local referenda before a city or village could be annexed into a neighboring city or municipality. The other would allow citizens of previously annexed cities or villages to initiate ballot questions on whether or not to secede from their current cities or municipalities.
