ICYMI: Hundreds of Progressive Ballot Measure Leaders, Donors, and Activists Convene at Annual Road Ahead Conference

Las Vegas—This month, the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC) hosted their annual Road Ahead conference in Las Vegas, themed ‘Dawning of a New Democracy.’ The event is one of the largest progressive gatherings in the nation and presents an opportunity for leaders, campaign insiders and state-based advocates to network and collaborate on strategic ways to support the passage of progressive ballot initiative campaigns—and resist opposition attempts to undermine direct democracy.

This year, the conference featured sessions on lessons learned from Ohio’s successful Issue 1 campaign, abortion on the ballot in 2024, the role of mis and disinformation in ballot measure campaigns, fighting trans attacks at the ballot, and more. As the only conference of its kind, Road Ahead offered a noteworthy platform for attendees to explore the lifecycle of a ballot measure campaign — from funding to election day — and exchange best practices for effectively and equitably winning at the ballot box year-round.
